Did Costco hike the price for Christmas?

I purchased a box of white nectarine 1.5kg on Dec 19, it was $4.49.  The same thing was $6.69 on Dec 23, just a few days later. That costs 50% more.  Isn't Costco providing the lowest price available and maintain its revenue based on its membership fee? I cannot think of a good reason for this price change.  Same tactic as petrol price?

NRMA reveals which car seats are unsafe

The 1 star products are the Safety 1st Sentinel II and the Maxi-Cosi Mico AP ISOGO, the latter of which was the most expensive child restraint tested in this batch at a recommended retail price of $549. By comparison, the Mother’s Choice Silver Embrace scored four stars in rear-facing mode but has an RRP of only $169 and the Babylove booster seat also provides a four-star rating for only $70. The Maxi-Cosi model received the lowest rating despite being equipped with ISOFIX, hailed by some in the industry as a huge step forward for child safety. Ms Vlahomitros warned that correct fitment of the seat was also a vitally important consideration for parents, and that only one restraint – the Safe-N-Sound Trufix – scored above 3 stars for ease of use. RBA SLASHES RATES TO NEW RECORD LOW

At today’s meeting on monetary policy, the RBA Board has cut the official cash rate to 2 per cent, a new historic low for the Australian market. RBA Governor Glenn Stevens attributes the following economic factors to today’s decision: Global Growth: “Is expanding at a moderate pace, but commodity prices have declined over the past year, in some cases sharply.” Australian Growth:  “Looking ahead, the key drag on private demand is likely to be weakness in business capital expenditure in both the mining and non-mining sectors over the coming year. Public spending is also scheduled to be subdued. The economy is therefore likely to be operating with a degree of spare capacity for some time yet."

Find a discounted place at one of Australia’s leading private schools

School Places is the only way to find & claim a discounted place at one of Australia’s leading private schools. Let's face it. Not many parents can afford private school fees without making a few sacrifices. For a child born this year, the total cost of private school education from pre-school to year 12 could easily exceed $500,000. That's a lot to budget for. For a while now private school fees have been increasing at a higher rate than CPI. In other words, fees are growing at a faster rate than household incomes. Schools often find themselves with unexpected vacancies across different year levels. These can come about for many reasons such as last minute cancellations or families moving out of the area at short notice.

When’s your birthday? ~ A Singapore Math Problem With The Solution

Question: Albert and Bernard just met Cheryl. “When’s your birthday?” Albert asked Cheryl. Cheryl thought a second and said, “I’m not going to tell you, but I’ll give you some clues.” She wrote down a list of 10 dates: May 15 — May 16 — May 19 June 17 — June 18 July 14 — July 16 August 14 — August 15 — August 17 “My birthday is one of these,” she said. Then Cheryl whispered in Albert’s ear the month — and only the month — of her birthday. To Bernard, she whispered the day, and only the day.  “Can you figure it out now?” she asked Albert. Albert: I don’t know when your birthday is, but I know Bernard doesn’t know, either. Bernard: I didn’t know originally, but now I do. Albert: Well, now I know, too! When is Cheryl’s birthday?  Solution:

Manuka Honey Fever

There are so many Manuka honey product on the market now.  Some from Australia; and some from New Zealand.  Each product is using different indicators to represent its strength.  Capilano has good descriptions on what these indicators mean. Non Peroxide Activity (NPA) In 1981, Dr Peter Molan (MBE), who is a professor at the University of Waikato in New Zealand, was researching the peroxide activity in honeys from around the world when he found that when he deliberately destroyed the Hydrogen Peroxide Activity (HPA) in honey that only one honey was still showing strong antibacterial activity. This activity became known as Non Peroxide Antibacterial Activity (NPA). Dr Molan went on to research this activity over many years and found that it was very stable in Manuka honey and could withstand both heat and light exposure and still remain highly active and effective.
