Yakult - Factory Tour

Yakult is a fermented milk drink that contains a very high concentration of a unique, beneficial bacterium called Lactobacillus casei Shirota strain. This bacteria was named after Dr Shirota and is exclusive to Yakult. Each one of us has around 100 trillion bacteria in our intestines. Some of these are beneficial and some are potentially harmful. To work efficiently our digestive system needs a healthy balance where the number of beneficial bacteria outnumber those that are potentially harmful. The unique beneficial bacteria in Yakult are strong enough to survive the journey through the gastric juices to reach the small intestine alive, where they help maintain an ideal balance of beneficial bacteria. Each 65ml bottle contains 6.5 billion of these highly acid resistant bacteria,

Kids Health Info - Fever

Fever is when the temperature of the body rises to above 38°C. A normal temperature range for a child is usually up to 38°C. Fever is usually a sign of infection in the body. Fever is often caused by a virus and sometimes by bacteria. Viral infections are far more common and do not need antibiotics. Antibiotics do not cure viruses. Bacterial infections are treated with antibiotics. A high fever does not necessarily mean your child has a serious illness. The fever seen in common childhood infections is not harmful, and in fact it helps the body's immune system fight off the infection.  There is no advantage to lowering your child's fever except for comfort.   Treat your child by making them more comfortable; give clear fluids (eg. water, diluted fruit juice) and paracetamol if the fever is making your child miserable. Fever is a way the body fights infection, and your child's temperature will return to normal when the infection has completely gone. Fever is not kno

Higgues Nappies Price Hike

Have you noticed that size of Higgues bulk-size package was reduced?  I think only newborn and infant package was not changed.  The rest was reduced by around 10%. For example, toddler package was 81 nappies, now 72 nappies.  This effectively increases the Huggies price by around 10%.  Check out yourself at Woolies or Coles. Further, the price at Costco was increased as well.  This price move makes Aldi's Mamia much attractive than before.  I am shifting over to Mamia now. See here for price details.
